چکیده

A SISO (Single Input Single Output) and a SIMO (Single Input Multiple Output) wireless transmission system operating in a Rayleigh distributed environment at the 434 MHz ISM band are investigated. The two systems are simulated using the Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) method, which enables the simultaneous characterization of the propagation channel and the immersed wire dipoles antennas. A novel procedure to evaluate the method’s accuracy for this type of systems is introduced, through the convergence of the SISO system’s Transfer Function (H). The results show that a numerical phase error of 1 per wavelength is acceptable for accurate estimation of H for a propagation distance of about 12 wavelengths. Moreover, the instantaneous correlation coefficient and the received power ratio versus dipoles’ separation distance are estimated and presented for the SIMO system. Key-Words: FDTD, numerical dispersion error, transfer function, dipoles, multipath, correlation coefficient.

کاربرد روش معادله سهموی در تحلیل مسائل انتشار امواج داخل ساختمان

With the rapid growth of indoor wireless communication systems, the need to accurately model radio wave propagation inside the building environments has increased. Many site-specific methods have been proposed for modeling indoor radio channels. Among these methods, the ray tracing algorithm and the finite-difference time domain (FDTD) method are the most popular ones. The ray tracing approach ...

Study and Capacity Evaluation of SISO, MISO and MIMO RF Wireless Communication Systems

The wireless communication systems has gone from different generations from SISO systems to MIMO systems. Bandwidth is one important constraint in wireless communication. In wireless communication, high data transmission rates are essential for the services like tripple play i.e. data, voice and video. At user end the capacity determines the quality of the communication systems. This paper aims...

Single-Carrier Frequency-Domain Equalization for Orthogonal STBC over Frequency-Selective MIMO-PLC channels

In this paper we propose a new space diversity scheme for broadband PLC systems using orthogonal space-time block coding (OSTBC) transmission combined with single-carrier frequency-domain equalization (SC-FDE). To apply this diversity technique to PLC channels, we first propose a new technique for combining SC-FDE with OSTBCs applicable to all dispersive multipath channels impaired by impulsive...

Energy-efficient protocols for wireless networks with adaptive MIMO capabilities

Transmission power control has been used in wireless networks to improve the channel reuse and/or reduce energy consumption. It has been mainly applied to single-input single-output (SISO) systems, where each node is equipped with a single antenna. In this paper, we propose a power-controlled channel access protocol for MIMO-capable wireless LANs with two antennas per node. Our protocol, called...

Performance of Turbo coded OFDM wireless link for SISO, SIMO, MISO and MIMO system

This paper compares the performance of a Turbo coded OFDM wireless link for SISO, SIMO, MISO and MIMO system with uncoded OFDM wireless link for SISO, SIMO, MISO and MIMO system in the in the presence of rayleigh fading. Turbo encoder encodes the input information bits and sends to QPSK or 16 QAM or 64 QAM modulator. Modulated symbols are mapped by STBC. Outputs of STBC are split into n streams...
